I am looking for an architect who can help us (participation kitchen in The Hague) with a drawing about the developments of the participation kitchen and meeting space in Moerwijk. It concerns more than 500 m2 where we want to develop the physical Participation Kitchen Concept. The aim is to develop a participation kitchen and a meeting space here where we want to combat poverty and improve connections in society.

About the participation kitchen:

The Participation Kitchen is an initiative of the Hagenaar Ben Lachhab. Ben started the Participation Kitchen to prepare a healthy meal every day for vulnerable elderly people in the The Hague region, as long as the corona crisis lasts. Many elderly people cannot or do not want to leave their home during this crisis. It concerns a target group that is vulnerable due to age and sometimes health and is therefore quarantined. A solution had to be found for this group of vulnerable people without a social safety net.

Even before the corona crisis, Ben was committed to helping these lonely elderly people by cooking and eating with them. Unfortunately, this could no longer continue due to the quarantine measures, but the demand for help only increased. Then Ben started what is now the Participation Kitchen. What started as a message on Facebook has grown into a large-scale local initiative, partly due to the collaboration with Shell, World Forum, Xtra Welzijn, Rabobank The Hague and the municipality of The Hague.
